It was the most amazing experience of my life. You don't need a helmut, it's not much more risk than jumping into a lake at home. Sometimes you've gotta know, when it's your time...it's your time. It's in Zambia. I'd say it's as safe as skiing, white water rafting, commuting via bike to work in a busy city. Like everything in life, if you haven't experienced it yourself then you don't get a vote and you should save judgement for those who do have the experience. Carpe Diem People!
